The power of taking ‘conscious walks

It’s raining here in Warsaw, Poland.

I’ve been here for a few days, having flown over from the UK last week. I heard it was nice here, lower cost than London, and I wanted a change of scene.

I do miss the dog, though.

Earlier today I was feeling stuck and worrying about stupid stuff. I sometimes do that when I’m not thinking about sushi.

I looked out my window over the beautiful church in the centre of the city, glistening in the rain from my eighth floor Airbnb apartment.

I knew I needed to do one of my ‘conscious walks.’

I stepped out and got present with everything.

I do this a lot and it is doing wonders for my creativity. I really mean that.

If you can’t walk, move. If you can’t move, meditate. It stills the mind. That’s where creative wisdom is found.

I got soaked after 20 minutes strolling about but felt great afterwards. I had found a solution to something that had been bugging me.

(And I got the idea for a new post on Instagram (follow me there if you aren’t already - I’m sharing daily carousel posts about mindfulness and mindset there).

Walking, or movement, or something ‘mindful’ that gets you out of your thinking has so much underestimated power for productivity and fulfilment.

Don’t skimp on going out and being present with the sights and sounds.

Love,

Alex
