Alex Mathers is a coach, writer, and illustrator, currently based in: Krakow, Poland.

I started my career as a researcher for a property magazine, before working full time as a digital illustrator and building a global design and consulting business - Red Lemon Club - from scratch, with no formal training.

Now I help business owners, founders, coaches, creators and entrepreneurs take their skills to develop their personal brands, and build online teaching businesses based on authentic leadership.

I have worked with clients including the BBC, Mars, Dots Games, Saatchi & Saatchi, Wired Magazine, 99U, Secret Cinema, and Google.

I write and speak about mental health, impactful writing, self-confidence, teaching your passions, growing your business, and cultivating conscious awareness.

I’m a lover of science-fiction, alien films (not a Trekky), space, books, sea creatures, tea, books, volcanoes, Japanese food, climbing mountains, reading, books, and 4x4 vehicles. Prefer german shepherd over chihuahua.

I have coached hundreds of people to overcome their limitations and find success in business and create impact. I’ve written several non-fiction books, and have built a readership of over 140,000 readers.

I am a life-long student of psychology and the power we have in creating our world through a deeper understanding of the mind.

Global Design Business

I created a design and illustration practice in my twenties, working with clients like Google, Mars and the BBC. This evolved into a design business consultancy, which has now evolved further into business and life coaching with a wide range of clients.

“Over the coming century, the most vital human resource in need of conservation and protection is likely to be our own consciousness and mental space.”

— Tim Wu

Alex’s story

I’m Alex Mathers [pronounced ‘May-thers’], a coach, teacher, writer and illustrator.

At school, I was terrified to speak up in class and express myself as a teen around people. I was labelled shy and too quiet. I would always find myself frazzled by stimulating environments and social interactions when others seemingly were not.

I believed for some time that I was inadequate and incapable of being accepted by, and connecting with others.

Since then, and after plenty of work on myself and thousands of others, I’ve found compassion in who I am, regardless of the challenges this has brought for me.

I can now see this fearful phase of my life was one of my greatest gifts.

My deepest fears revealed my greatest passion for finding my voice and connecting with, leading and supporting others. I developed mastery in understanding the mind, cultivating consciousness and how both can serve to help grow your business.

I now help other introverts, creatives, business owners, and entrepreneurs overcome resistance, lead authentically, and rediscover the inner wisdom and genius that will guide them to making the most profound impact.

“Not only are his courses and consultancy interesting and thought provoking - importantly - they work. A true wise worded supporter in your corner when you need it most. I highly recommend his services.”

Justin Robert Price, Designer

In addition to starting a global design business, and Red Lemon Club, I founded illustration curation site Ape on the Moon in 2009, and created a successful planner product called Book of Lift in 2017, used by hundreds of creatives and entrepreneurs.

As well as working with clients around the world, I have written several books on attracting clients, creativity, and standing out, and have written for 99u, Design Taxi, Computer Arts, Six Revisions, and Digital Arts.

I have spoken at numerous conferences and panels, including ICON Conference in Texas, OFFF festival in Barcelona, Behance in Tokyo, Ilustratour in Spain, DXSaigon in Vietnam, and the AOI in London.
